中銀カプセルタワービル保存・再生プロジェクトは建物の保存を目的に2014年に設立。オーナーや住人、管理組合、黒川紀章建築都市設計事務所と連携して、カプセルを交換することによる”メタボリズム”の実現を目指し活動してきました。残念ながら2022年に建物は解体されましたが、23カプセルを取り出し、黒川紀章建築都市設計事務所監修の下に修復を行いました。これらを国内外の美術館や商業施設での展示や、宿泊施設やギャラリーとして運営する「カプセル新陳代謝プロジェクト」を立ち上げました。

 

Nakagin Capsule Tower Preservation and Restoration Project was established in 2014 for the purpose of preserving building. In cooperation with owners, residents, management associations, and Kisho Kurokawa Architects and Associates, we have been working to realize “Metabolism” by exchanging capsules. Unfortunately, the building was demolished in 2022, but 23 capsules were taken out and restored under the supervision of Kisho Kurokawa Architects and Associates. We have launched the “Capsule Metabolism Project” to exhibit these works at museums and commercial facilities in Japan and overseas, and to operate them as lodging facilities and galleries.
